Columbia Community Service relies on events and initiatives to help build awareness and support for each annual campaign. The following events helped to promote the work of CCS and raised donations for the 72nd  Annual Appeal. Thank you to everyone who worked to make each event a success!

  • Last summer the Columbia Softball League collected $2,390 from 230 donors. Thank you to Miguel Pagan and members of his team for thinking of CCS.
  • 102 employees participated in the Tenth Annual CCS Employee Basketball Tournament and raised $5,934 to assist local community organizations. Many thanks to Joyce Jackson, team members, referees, and attendees who make this a fun event year after year.
  • The  Barnard Bike-A-THon raised as much as $9,865. As many as 163 staff, faculty, and students, rode with spirit and energy to make a difference.
  • This spring, the CCS office collected 340 bags of new and gently used coats, shoes, and clothing, which assisted clients at  Cathedral Community Cares.
  • Terri Caldes and the Dining Services team held three Cooking with Chef Mike events, which raised close to $1,000 for CCS.
  • The Columbia Dining-Blue Menu raised a total of $4,130 for CCS. The Blue Menu was available for Lerner Hall, Low Library, and Faculty House events. A portion of each bill ($5 per person) was donated to CCS, and Event Management matched an additional $5 donation for each  guest.
  • We remain grateful to the Office of Alumni and Development for their tireless commitment and support. This year, they raised $19,418 with 98% of their employees contributing to CCS.
