Harlem Academy drives equity of opportunity for promising students (grades 1-8), guiding them to thrive at the highest academic levels and one day make a mark on the world. A rigorous academic curriculum engages students and cultivates intellectual curiosity-resulting in scores starting on average at the 74th percentile and graduating at the 90th percentile. In addition, the advisory program develops habits for academic success and community contribution.
Scholarship support is critical to the realization of Harlem Academy's mission, ensuring that no qualified family is turned away because of an inability to pay.
- The CCS grant will support the Secondary School Placement Program. This will ensure that students can leverage the growth they achieve while at HA in gaining admission to secondary schools where they will continue to broaden their horizons on their path to college completion.
- This grant provided Rasan Hoskins, a hard-working fifth grader, with a scholarship that improved his academic success. On 2018 year-end standardized testing, he earned top scores nationally, including 98th percentile in reading comprehension and writing mechanics, 97th percentile in writing concepts and skills, 96th percentile in vocabulary, and 95th percentile in math.
