Harlem Educational Activities Fund
Since 1989, the Harlem Educational Activities Fund, Inc. (HEAF), creates pathways to college and the professional world for nearly 600 New York City students from low-income backgrounds each year, by providing resources that help them achieve higher education, fulfilling careers, and greater lifetime earnings. Since that time, they have expanded their reach of the "forgotten middle" to include students attending over 100 public schools across the city, including Harlem, Washington Heights and the development of a second site in Brooklyn.

- The CCS grant will be used for the Youth Development & Leadership Academy. This will enable HEAF to serve 50 high school students at a two-day overnight retreat. Spring retreat has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but retreat will occur in the fall.

- Enabled HEAF to cover the costs of their annual retreat for high school students in grades 9-11, which provides underserved students with opportunity to build community, foster a sense of brotherhood and sisterhood, as well as develop critical skills that promote college and career success.
