Ricardo O'Gorman Garden and Center for Resources in the Humanities

The O’Gorman Garden has been serving children in Harlem since 1998. The school was founded by the late Ned O'Gorman, an acclaimed poet and inspirational Harlem community activist, and continues to provide a warm, safe, and nurturing environment to inspire confidence and a love of learning, imagination, and self-confidence in young children. The O’Gorman Garden offers morning and afternoon programs for children ages 2 ½ to 5 years. Utilizing the Montessori method of teaching, their program is free or subsidized for those who cannot afford to attend otherwise.

The CCS grant is used to fund the Reading and Garden Learning Program which is a science based program focusing on botany and zoology.
