GCA has donated $25,000 to address urgent food insecurity challenges.

In the time when they are needed most, New York nonprofits are facing grave uncertainty from the impact of COVID-19.

More than 280 participants and spectators collectively raised $7,248.50 to support the CCS 73rd Annual Appeal. 

For more than 35 years, Broadway Community has offered an open door to neighbors and an array of services and support.

Thanks to our donors, on May 31, the Columbia Community Service 72nd Annual Appeal closed with more than $353,400 in donations that will be used to allocate grants to 60 local community organizations.

CCS grantees work persistently to meet the needs of our neighbors by providing services that are focused on elderly care and intergenerational partnerships, children and education, afterschool programs, substance abuse, healthy communities, arts and the environment.

Thanks to all of the supporters and participants of the Barnard 2019 Bike-A-Thon held on Friday, March 29  in  the Event Oval at Barnard College. From 11:00am to 6:00pm, close to 100 participants rode to raise over $8,000 for the 60 community organizations that partner with Columbia Community Service! Special thanks to President Beiloch, employees and students of Barnard College and Columbia University, and many businesses along Broadway that gave of your time and support. This year, every spin made a difference!

This year, 102 employees participated in this annual event that continues to bring employees, family and friends together. The event raised $5,934 to assist local community organizations. 

Each year at the President’s Holiday Party, attendees are asked to bring along a unwrapped toy for children aged 12 and younger. The next day - Columbia Community Service with the support of numerous volunteers sorted the more than 1000 toys - that eventually were distributed to twelve CCS Grantees that are local area youth serving organizations.  The toy drive encourages the Columbia Community to give back and helps local area parents give toys to their children. 

In May of this year, CCS distributed more than $333,675 in grants to support 60 community programs. Jacquelyn Morton, Senior Philanthropic Advisor for the Office of Alumni and Development made the event a success with her presentation on Planned Giving: Making More Possible.  PlantShed added to the festivities with their donation of beautiful centerpieces.
